The age old debate continues ... which is better, individual sports or team sports?
A better question is which of the two are more disciplined?
My favorite sport is track and field, an individual sport. My second and third favorite sports are basketball and football, both team sports.
Claiming one as better or worse is very difficult to me. I like the unity of team sports.
But I like the discipline of individual sports. My recent visit to Kang's Tae Kwon-Do, which is an individual sport, reminded me why.
I spoke to Dr. Kang, who said discipline is a top priority. the children in the advanced class showed it.
When I asked any of them a question, they said either "yes sir or no sir,"
not "yeah or uh-huh," or "no, or unh-uh" as many other children respond.
It was a pleasant glimpse to see young, disciplined children.
The youngest in the class was 6-year-old Ethan Wise, 6, and even at that age, he ended our conversation by saying "thank you sir."
Attached are a few photos from my visit to the facility.
