How much would you pay for rain boots?
I just read this interesting story today online on CNN Money, thanks to our photo editor Christopher Smith, who tipped me off.
The story reports that a local woman is reportedly
listing her Missoni for Target rain boots for $31,000 on ebay.
No, I didn't add any extra zeroes.
The story quotes Tammy Lyn, of Tulsa. She told CNN this:
"We have lived frugally and have some savings, but like most Americans, it's just not enough to cover college, retirement, and life at this point," she explained. "Missoni mania looked like the perfect opportunity for a miracle."
I blogged last Tuesday about how quickly the limited-edition brand flew off the Target shelves, and
temporarily crashed Target's website, when released last week. I've been jumping around the house this week, as my Internet-ordered Missoni items arrived.
But I'm not sure they're worth thousands and thousands of dollars.
