30 Tips for 30 days of NaNoWriMo

Today is the day that some 850 fellow Oklahomans and about 250,000 folk worldwide began -- or at least, said they were going to begin -- taking part in National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo.

Galley Cat, a book industry website, has gathered 30 days worth of novel-writing tips and ideas from past NaNoWriMo participants, and is sharing them through its website.

And for those who aren't too keen on the idea of the solitude of the writer in his or her garrett, local participants can check out the website of the Tulsa NaNoWriMo group here, or join its Facebook group here.

Happy typing! And if you need more inspiration, there's this bit from the Wall Street Journal about Erin Morgenstern, whose novel "The Night Circus" began during the 2005 NaNoWriMo.
