5 fun (and free!) things to do with your family this weekend

Kids can design their own cupcake or cookie creation at Whole Foods from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Sunday is Sunday Funday at Gilcrease Museum, where three art stations will be set up for kids.
If you're looking for something to do with your family this weekend, here's your ticket. You could snuggle up watching romantic comedies and making valentines this cold winter weekend, but if you feel like getting out of the house, here are some fun (and free) things to do this weekend.
1.
Who doesn't love looking at puppies? Even if you have no intentions of bringing home a dog, it's still fun to look at the puppies at the
animal-adoption weekend at Woodland Hills Mall
. Several animal rescue organizations, including Lab Rescue, Westie Rescue and Tulsa Boxer Rescue will have lots of loveable dogs available for adoption.
When:
Friday through Sunday
Where:
Lower level, near Macy's, of Woodland Hills Mall, 7021 S. Memorial Drive
Cost:
Free
2.
It's the second Saturday of the month, and that means admission is free at the
Philbrook Museum of Art
. If you've ever worried about taking your kids to Philbrook for fear they would be too noisy or rambunctious, don't sweat it on these second Saturdays where kids abound. These free admission days have become a must-do for Tulsa families since they give families a chance to see all of the museum galleries and grounds for free. Kids can also create a fun craft at a kids' art table set up on the main floor of the museum.
When:
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday
Where:
Philbrook Museum, 2727 S. Rockford Road
Cost:
Free
3.
Hey, Lego maniacs. Kids ages 6 to 12 are invited to Zarrow Regional Library's
Lego club
. The library will have Legos for those who need them, but you can bring your own to create massive stacks, buildings and fun designs with the help of Lego masters.
When:
2 to 3 p.m.
Where:
Zarrow Regional Library, 2224 W. 51st St.
Cost:
Free
4.
Just in time for Valentine's Day, bring the kids to
Whole Foods' bakery department
on Saturday where they can help create a custom cupcake or cookie for their special valentines.
When:
Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday
Where:
Whole Foods, 1401 E. 41st St.
Cost:
Free
5.
It's
Sunday Funday at Gilcrease Museum
, where families can visit three different art-making stations placed around the museum. Kids, ages 3 to 15, will use different materials at each station, and kids can explore the museum in an art hunt. Two animated short films will be shown in the auditorium at 1 p.m.
When:
Noon to 4 p.m. Sunday
Where:
Gilcrease Museum, 1400 N. Gilcrease Museum Road
Cost:
Programs are free. Admission is free for kids and $8 for adults.
