The Linda-Mar Westside burger comes on buttered Texas toast.

If you're not this brave, you can always watch the rock climbers at Chandler Park.

Chicken and rice from Mi Tierra. Eat then shop at this charming restaurant and market.
Looking for something fun to do this weekend? You can't beat a stroll through Utica Square, dinner and drinks in Brookside or a shopping marathon on 71st Street.
But sometimes it's fun to hit up the spots where you won't find a crowd. Here are five picks off the beaten path. And you don't have to travel far - they're all in town.
1. Big burgerLinda-Mar customers are a loyal bunch. Stop by for lunch on Saturday, and you'll see why. The can't-miss burger is the Westside burger, a double meat and cheese on buttered Texas toast. If you've never been to the west side of Tulsa, here's a glimpse complete with a Nascar-decorated restaurant that doesn't apologize for not accepting credit cards. So here's a tip, or two: Bring cash, and skip the fries. Go for the onion rings or tater tots instead.

Rock climbers say Chandler is great because of its labyrinth-like twists and turns through the hillside. If you're brave enough, you can try it for yourself, or live vicariously and just go to watch. You can check them out on the east side of the park or along Avery Drive.

918-591-60523. Par-threeYou don't have to be a pro to play this course. Night golf at LaFortune is great fun for golfers, but it's also a chance for total amateurs to play without worrying about holding up the groups behind them. Night golf on this par-three course is a casual good time.

918-496-62004. Looking goodThere was a time when you could thumb through the phone book (Remember those?) and find many listings for hat shops in Tulsa. There’s little need for them now since department stores carry so many hats, and even more, because people don't dress up enough to need special occasion hats. But the Brothers Hat Shop, in the Greenwood District still specializes in hats, and it’s certainly off your beaten path of weekend shopping. Stop in, and bring the kids with you, for a fun look at real style.

918-585-23235. Eat and shopWhen you're running through where to eat (“Mexican? Italian? Chinese?), add Peruvian to your list. Mi Tierra is a charming restaurant with impeccably good food and a great adjoining market. If you like to cook, ask the staff for tips on Peruvian and South American cooking, then pick up the essentials in the market. And don’t miss the arepas, which you'll find as an appetizer. It's a Venezuelan-Colombian dish of baked corn flour cakes stuffed with plantains and cheese.
