TULSA TO DO
All but one of this week's picks for things to do in Tulsa are free. And, that one exception? It's just $7 for an Irish dinner. ...
You're not going to run out of things to do this weekend. It will be easy to keep yourself, and the kids, busy with happenings ...
A friend told me he had thought more about Woody Guthrie in the last few days than he had his whole life.
It's no wonder. ...
A lot of people are taking the last of their vacation days this week.
Of course, you can spend these days taking down the Christmas decorations or snuggling in your pajamas with your new Kindle.
But, if you're looking for something to do outside of the house, here are five ideas.
1. Go to the zoo. If you don't have kids, it's possible it's been years since you've made a trip to the Tulsa Zoo. With kids or without, the zoo would make a great day trip this week, especially with such nice weather in store. Make a day of it, mapping out what you want to see before and after lunch.
Tulsa Zoo, 6421 E. 36th St. North
2. Ride your bike. Again, with such nice weather, it will actually be nice enough to take a walk or ride your bike at RiverParks. After a week, or month, of indulging in sugary and fatty foods, a little exercise might actually sound great.
3. Hit the road. If you haven't yet rid the shopping bug, make the drive to Oklahoma City to the new Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City. Store there include Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, Nike, Coach, Banana Republic and Brooks Brothers. Store are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday this week.
The Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City, 7624 W. Reno Ave. in Oklahoma city
4. Check out the Dream Exhibit. Making time to go to a museum can be hard to do on a busy weekend. So since you have some time this week, check out the Dream Exhibit at the Tulsa Historical Society. The exhibits features original works in clay, oils, watercolor and more of dreams for a better future for Tulsa. It's appropriate for kids and adults. Admission is free for kids and $5 for adults
Tulsa Historical Society, 2445 S. Peoria Ave.
5. Learn to cook. This is a fun one: Sage Culinary Studio is having a date-night cooking class. Couples are invited to the class where they will learn to make chimichurri shrimp with rice and dulce de leche bars. It's at 7 p.m. Friday, and cost is $75 per couple. What a fun way to end a week of vacation.
