DJ Robbo and Lynn K will again spin 80s hits and dance the night away at 80s Prom on April 6 at the IDL Ballroom complex. Tulsa World file
80s Prom has been the most popular retro dance party in Tulsa for more than a decade, and happens this year
April 6 at the
IDL Ballroom-Electric Circus-Enso complex at 230 E. First St.
Yeah. It's been around longer than the big-hair-style decade that spawned the bash. That's a whole lot of Aqua Net. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door, available at
tulsaworld.com/okkle and at Starship Records.
Overly elaborate costumes, celebrity impersonators, three rooms of dancing, fashion shows, king & queen contest, stage acts and more are in store across three venues at the IDL Ballroom complex.
Get tickets early, as the event often sells out. There will be three dance floors, three bars, three stages with each room catering to a different musical vibe from that decade.
Expect everyone from the Karate Kid to Teen Wolf, and maybe even Madonna. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume and events include an era-specific fashion show from local retailers, movie soundtrack hits, best-dressed contest, classic movie and video clips via "retrovision," drinks, prom-like photo area and more.
DJs include Sean Kibble, Lynn K, Robbo, Sokmonkey, Bone and more.
Doors open 8 p.m. April 6. Learn more at
