In reply to rumors started last night that ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer was a bit … mmm .. tipsy during the network's election coverage (or as others will say, drunk – just flat out drunk) she said early this afternoon:

Hmmm...

Last night the Twitterverse lit up as ABC viewers speculated whether Sawyer’s slow speech, weird behavior and some bizarre questions she asked were signs that she'd been drinking. (AP)

“At one point, President Obama’s campaign put an exclamation point after ‘forward.' It was just 'forward' and then it had an exclamation point,” Sawyer begins in one clip. (Cut to the split screen of two reporters – one of whom is catching on to Sawyer's loopiness and the other, who looks visibly annoyed by it.) “When did they decide that that was the right message for them?"

huh?

Had Sawyer done a little bit too much celebrating?!

One witty character in the same spirit as the fake Rahm Emanuel tweeter from last year took to the social media platform and created a profile under the handle DrnkDianeSawyer.

and then later

One of the ABC higher-ups said Sawyer was not drunk by tired.

@DrnkDianeSawyer said otherwise this morning.

Drunk? Not drunk? Tired? What do you think? Should we be concerned?
