A "Big" decision at lunch

Coco ordered the Ultimate Salad at Big Al's, which comes with fresh baby spinach, avocado, grape tomatoes, sunflower seeds, jalapenos, chopped red onions, hard boiled eggs, shredded carrots and cabbage, black beans, alfalfa sprouts, Provolone, smoked turkey and seasonings. I gotta come back and try the fresh carrot juice and blueberry smoothie, which FGP recommends. CORY YOUNG/Tulsa World

Long time no chat! How y'all been?

Yes, I'm a great big family-sized KFC bucket-o-remiss in my bloggery of late; but -- sur-PRIZE, sur-PRIZE, Gomer Pyle -- it ain't because I've been all mopey-dopey and, historically/consequently, off la diet.

I'm quite happy to tell you I've lost 15 pounds -- from 231.8 on Feb. 22 to 215.6 on March 15. WOOHOO! Thanks, Dubya Dubya! I feel like Jennifer Hudson, minus her ability to sing. Or act. Or wear Versace on the red carpet.

Anyhoo, with WW points in mind, I went to lunch with FGP and our beloved Coco for a Team Sassy Leopard reunion at Big Al's Healthy Foods, 15th Street and Harvard Avenue. I haven't been in a few years, so I was excited to return -- especially having heard they count Dubya Dubya points.

Although we were told there isn't a WW menu anymore, the lovely lady who took our orders knew the points value to stuff, including the oriental wrap I ordered with oranges, chicken, almonds, a sprinkling of chow mein noodles and a fat-free dressing. Excellent! I contemplated a smoothie, but I'll save that for another day when I'm not feeling guilty about the four cups of Chex Mix I inhaled the previous evening.

I hope to hear of sales and stuff to tell you about this week, and I'll post those things -- and other random ramblings -- as I hear them.

Peace, love and fat-free dressing ... XOXO

GO JASON!!! I'm proud of you. Just ate dinner here at Chez Little: Pillsbury microwave pancakes ( 3 points each) with a tsp each of margarine and syrup (2 points each)--total of 7 points. Now I'm having a bowl of fresh fruit....YUMMERS!

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
