On a fairly regular basis, Google releases a new little quirk in their search engine that makes for a memorable search results page. Often, we see these in their "Google Doodles" - creative and artistic images which take the place of the logo on certain days. For awhile now though, they've been putting these nuances into the search results themselves. When you type in a particular search term or phrase, Google will deliver a certain result. Just in time for the holidays, they've included special results for the search term "festivus."

Festivus, popularized by the hit sitcom "Seinfeld" in the late '90s, is defined on Wikipedia as "a secular holiday celebrated on December 23 as an alternative to Christmas and as way to commemorate the season without participating in its pressures and commercialism." One of the staples of the so-called "festivus for the rest of us" is a bare metal pole which "Seinfeld" character Frank Costanza (wonderfully played by Jerry Stiller) decrees "requires no decoration." In true form, Google has a little fun with this. If you haven't already, go check it out now.
