A little spot of good news

Muse Intimates at Utica Square is a finalist for Best Shop Award from a leading lingerie industry magazine.

With all this heat and the frequent bad news coming out of Oklahoma (our obesity rate kinda hit me hard, and all this blue-green algae hoo-ha is quite irksome), it's nice when we hear little tidbits of good news, including national kudos to local retailers.

One such store owner is Deborah Croisant, whose lingerie shop, Muse Intimates at Utica Square, has been nominated for Best Shop Award from Intima Magazine, a lingerie industry publication.

"What's more, we have been notified that we are a finalist in the prestigious European Flair award category," she wrote in a recent email blast. "This means that we are one of the top 25 Intimate Apparel Stores in the United States and Canada!"

We'll keep you posted on the results.

Peace, love and lingerie ... XOXO

I bought a matching leopard print bra and panty set here the other day. It's an excellent store, with friendly (and discreet) service.

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
