Just when we thought Voyager was going to cross the threshold into interstellar space, turns out there is an all new region called the magnetic highway. Still, NASA assures us that the 35 year old spacecraft should pierce the outermost part of our solar system any day now.

Our little rover scooped up some dirt for the first time this week, and aren’t we the proud parents? The on board lab found a complex mix of chemicals and minerals similar to earlier samples taken by previous rovers. While there were not any signs of organics, the Curiosity team plans to keep looking in more diverse parts of nearby landscape.

hereNASA Spacecraft Finds New Evidence for Water Ice on MercuryNASA held a news conference last week to share the surprising results from data sent by the MESSENGER spacecraft currently orbiting Mercury. It turns out that there is water at the poles hidden from the sun by crater walls. A sizeable amount, by all indications. "The new data indicate the water ice in Mercury's polar regions, if spread over an area the size of Washington, D.C., would be more than 2 miles thick."
Full storyCuriosity set to get a little brotherWith some new toys, but using mostly spare parts and systems from Curiosity, NASA is planning on sending a twin rover to Mars some time in 2020. If congress approves the budget, this rover could be outfitted so collect and save geological samples for future missions to pick up and bring home, which sounds awesome.
