All About Jazz is reporting that JFJO will return to Europe in October.

From the site: Touring in support of its newest album, "Lil Tae Rides Again," (Hyena) the band will perform in the UK, Ireland, Scotland, Holland, Germany and Sweden over the course of the three week tour.

... It'll conclude a banner year for JFJO whose latest album was widely praised by publications like Downbeat, The Village Voice and San Francisco Weekly, while a relentless touring schedule featured stops at Newport Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center and the The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame.

Barrelhouse Beat

Barrelhouse: A colloquialism describing the low saloons at the turn of the century (19th) that served whiskey straight out of the barrel. It's also a reference to the type of music played in those venues. Ex: Barrelhouse music.

Beat: The time or timing. Ex: The band played with a solid beat. Also used as a term describing a reporters specific area of expertise. Ex: The music beat.
