American-made chopsticks going to China

A buddy of mine in Chicago said he picked up this story from a national news service awhile back.

It seems the Chinese, who produce about 63 billion pairs of chopsticks a year, are running low on wood due to the building boom in that country.

Jae Lee, a Korean-American, apparently took note of that situation, as well as the fact that a third of the world's population uses chopsticks daily, and that the state of Georgia has an abundance of wood.

So, about a year ago Lee founded Georgia Chopsticks in Americus, Ga., and reportedly is processing a few million chopsticks daily, all stamped with "Made in America" and most heading to China. Priceless.
