Hello, Tulsa World blog readers. Just taking this chance to quickly introduce myself to you.

I’m taking over the Tulsa To Do blog. It will continue to keep you informed about events happening in the area. I’m also in charge of keeping the World’s internal calendar up-to-date, and I write a weekly feature that comes out in Thursday’s Weekend section, called “Don’t Miss.”

So basically, along with introducing myself to you, this is a call for events. If you know of something going on, let me know about it. I’m always looking for things to do. Or interesting places to go. Or fun things to see. You get the idea.

To start out, don’t forget about some events happening this weekend.

Saturday: DrillersFest
The Tulsa Drillers will host DrillersFest 2012 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at ONEOK Field. The annual open house event gives fans their first opportunity to purchase individual tickets for all 70 Drillers home games this year. Other activities include free use of Kids Zone and the inflatables at Hornsby’s Hangout, free hot dogs and sodas with ticket purchases, behind-the-scenes ONEOK Field tours every hour, and an opportunity for kids to run the bases. And finally, this will be the last chance to see the St. Louis Cardinals’ World Champions Trophy in Tulsa. The trophy will be on display during the event, so bring your cameras.

Saturday: Lucky Skate
The BOK Center is hosting Lucky Skate Saturday starting at 10 a.m. For $10 ($5 if you bring your own skates), you can enjoy an hour of skating on a 17,000-square-foot ice rink. Horse and carriage rides will also be offered from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday through the streets of downtown.

Saturday-Sunday: International Auto Show
The Tulsa International Auto Show wraps up this weekend at the QuikTrip Center at Expo Square. The show features presentations, hundreds of new models, dozens of preproduction models and feature vehicles. Hours 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults, free for children 12 and younger.
