Another 'What Used to be There' question

On the heels of a similar question yesterday, another Tulsa World reader says he is driving himself crazy trying to remember what was located in the spot where Admiral Grill is today. That's in the long shopping center at 7842 E. Admiral Place.

Big Ed's Hamburgers and God Fathers Pizza???
Mark in Midtown (last year)
I was thinking there was a music store there, but maybe it was closer to Sheridan than Memorial...???? Beats me...

It was a Godfather's Pizza for sure. Possibly a Big Ed's as well. I remember eating there at the Godfather's MANY years ago while in town for a Darryl Starbird Car Show. It was heaven! They're still around in areas like Missouri. Ate at one earlier this year in fact! STILL the best Combo pizza I've ever had.

The person who originally asked the question said those answers weren't correct for that particular spot, but the reference to Big Ed's jogged his memory: It was Donnie's Old-Fashioned Hamburgers.

As I recall it was the Angel family, which has had burger joints all over town, that owned Donnie's. They sold it seven or eight years ago, and the new owner moved it to 21st and Memorial, I'm pretty sure where Big Anthony's BBQ is today. It didn't last too long after that.

Thanks for your help with that Scott! I really appreciate it! BTW, there was a Godfathers next door. It's been gone for a long time.

Yup. Godfather's was at the east corner of the strip center, closest to the bank. Where for art though Godfather's?!?!?!
