Anyone remember Two Pines Drive-In

Last week I reviewed an impressive new diner, Ozzie's, at 7240 E. Pine St. During my background interview with the owner, Ozzie Hidri, who had moved here from Wisconsin, Hidri said he was told that years ago the place was Two Pines Drive-In.

"I was told there were two pine trees in front of the restaurant, and you can see, by the way the parking is, that it once was a drive-in restaurant," Hidri said.

A Tulsa World researcher was unable to find any reference to a Two Pines Drive-In. Can anyone help?

I used to eat there at least once a week back in the late 70's when I worked that area. I may be mistaken, but I thought it was just called The Pines Restaurant. Good diner type food

It was The Pines Drive-in. A fellow named Gene Kernigan built it and operated it for many years.
i think it ran from the late 40`s to the middle 60`s.
Gene ran a good business.

My mom was a waitress there in the fifties and it was called 'The Pines'..
back then there was a large residential community in the area (this was
before the airport expansion and Douglas was running full blast).
Thanks! I knew ya'll would have the answers.
