Happy VD. (Hey, I used "happy," don't make me spell it out or use an exclamation point. At least not 'til my prescription's filled.)
As I sit here, digesting a LOVELY salad from lunch, I can't help but think, "Hmm ... It sure would be nice to make out with a pastry cart ..." But I try to think of other things, like deadlines and unemployment, which usually usher me right along to busy-ville.
However, in today's moments of weakness, I thought about a few vittles (i.e., vituals, for you high-fallutin' folks) that I'd love to have again. Right now, specifically. And just in case you haven't had them, I wanted to share my three current favorite foods:
1. The Sick Donkey sushi roll at Tsunami. Oh. My. Lanta. Have y'all had this? I checked the "hook-up roll" (like the chef's choice) on the sushi sheet (say that three times fast -- up the risk factor, do it at work). One of the best rolls I've had in a couple years.
2. Shrimp Salad at Cancun. One of my favorite salads in the world -- shrimp, cucumber, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, lime juice and spices. Besides being kick-ya-in-the-pants delicioso, it's uber-healthy. Put that in your pinata and beat it. (Sorry, I was trying to do a Spanish version of "pipe and smoke it," but I can't conjugate "fumar.")
3. Dark Chocolate M&Ms. Loaded with anti-oxidants that melt in your mouth, not in your hands. I can practically feel the free radicals being jailed.
Peace, love and pinatas ... xoxo

Love you more than...well...anything I can think of right now. I've added you to my favorites list so I can "hit" you every day (does it count if I do you multiple times a day? - in a nice way). Oh, btw - since both of us are on the never-ending diet from hell - for a pick-me-up during the day that adds no calories and is yummy-delicious: Arizona diet green tea. I carry it around in my car by the jug-ful.

Hey Jas, can I add one? Girl Scout cookies, particularly the Samoas! Happy hearts day!

Happy VD, Missy and KK! Hope Cupid's kind to both of y'all. I'll have to add your suggestions for Girl Scout Cookies and diet green tea -- both of which I like. Perhaps I'll do that for Thursday's blog, along with this morning's near-death experience. More on that later ... xoxo

Living Wright
While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
