Two art exhibits, each to benefit a worthy cause, will take place this weekend only.

“Tulsa Sights and Sounds” is the third annual show that the Tulsa Artists Guild has presented to benefit the Tulsa Historical Society. This year’s show, which will be on display at the Tulsa Historical Society, 2445 S. Peoria Ave., will feature works that have a distinctly Tulsa theme. A portion of the proceeds from art sales will go to help fund the programs of the Historical Society.

More than 50 artists are members of the guild, which begin in 1933. Benefit exhibitions such as “Tulsa Sights and Sounds” have been a part of the group’s mission from the start.

Hours for the exhibit are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 918-712-9484, or go to tulsaworld.com/tulsahistoricalsociety.

The University Club Tower, 1722 S. Carson Ave., will host its third annual “Ten Towering Artists” show and sale to benefit Therapetic Service Dogs of Oklahoma.

The 10 artists chosen for the show are: Michael Benton (wood inlay), Linda Coward (ceramics), Michael Davis (glass), Renee Dotson (acrylic painting), Vonda Evans (photography & colored pencils), Al Frisillo (hand-engraved metal), Joey Frisillo (oil & pastel), Michael Jones (watercolor & graphics), Jo lynch (colored pencils & watercolor) and Don Pearson (graphite & colored pencils).

In addition to the art show and sale, those attending can observe dogs as they undergo training to become therapy dogs, and take tours of this iconic Tulsa landmark.

Hours for the show are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. For more information, go to tulsaworld.com/10tower.
