"August: Osage County" cast tweets about Oklahoma

Juliette Lewis ("Cape Fear," "Natural Born Killers," "Due Date") plays Karen Weston, the youngest daughter in the Weston clan, in "August: Osage County."
For Twitter followers, it should be fun following those cast members in the movie "August: Osage County" who have their own accounts.
Juliette Lewis seems to be a frequent user, and it appears she was in Bartlesville last weekend for a visit, according to her Twitter account:
"@visitbville
@JulietteLewis
HI! Shhh dont tell everyone Im here! I LOVE this town btw..." she said on Sunday.
Then later: "Thank u #PinkFloyd #LynyrdSkynyrd for providing the perfect 'gettin into character' music here in Ok. #AugustOsageCounty."
And you might look for her in Oklahoma City at the Flaming Lips' concert in October, or at an upcoming Tulsa concert: "@DwellingSpaces @theflaminglips Im so there! Thnks4the heads up! Also hear Neil Young is playing Tulsa Oct 14th. Cant wait. #LoveLiveMusic."
Abigail Breslin, who plays the teenager in the movie based on Tracy Letts' play (the movie starts filming next week with the cast) also has a confirmed
Twitter account
, as does
Julia Roberts
.
If Roberts decides to tweet, that would be a surprise to watch for: According to Twitter, they have confirmed her account, but she has never tweeted from it.
It appears that Sam Shepard's Twitter account is a legitimate one, considering his conversations with other actors and the comments ("My favorite drink is another..."), but it's not confirmed by Twitter.
Neither is one for Meryl Streep which looks rather authentic.
They all bear watching, because we all want to know what the stars coming here to play Oklahomans think of filming in northeastern Oklahoma, right?

That is sacrilege to mention Neil Young in the same sentence with the Flaming Lips. The Flaming Lips are the most over hyped, over promoted band in OK history.
Neil Young is part of Rock History. Back in the day, when we wanted to wind a party down, we played Neil Young albums. Got people moving toward the door. The party was over.
Wonder if anyone pointed out the Frank Lloyd Wright building or Woolaroc ? Those are something to tweet home about. Wonder if anyone has given them a taste of Indian Fry Bread? Doubt if that's on the Hollywood or LA Diets, is it?

I am confused by the picture caption that says she plays the youngest daughter. Another blog said another person played the youngest daughter.

Meryl Streep plays the mother of three daughters, described in the play as:
Barbara, age 46 (played by Julia Roberts)
Ivy, age 44 (casting has not been announced)
Karen, age 40 (played by Juliette Lewis)
The character of Barbara has a daughter of her own in the play, a 14-year-old named Jean, played by Abigail Breslin.

I agree 217719.
Dozens of our friends (from teens to older who visited here over the past several months)from Europe, Canada and the NE U.S. all loved Wooloroc and the other regional sites and foods. Most said they felt like they were in a movie. Many of the Europeans, from Germany, Norway, Switzerland, and Austria, had already visited places like NYC and the west coast of the U.S., and told us that the next time they come over they only want to come here (Oklahoma) since this was "real" America. Maybe the Hollywood types won't have the same appreciation for Oklahoma's uniqueness - but one never knows.

“I was born a poor, black child” … not me, actually, but Steve Martin’s character in the “The Jerk.” That absurd opening line is just one of the absurd number of film facts, quotes and minutiae contained in
movie critic Michael Smith’s
brain, at his disposal to toss out on a moment’s notice. It’s a key requirement as Tulsa World film critic to know these things. Michael learned a few other life facts along the way (seven years as a Crystal’s Pizza & Spaghetti manager) before attempting journalism and joining the Tulsa World in 1996, where he’s covered everything from a school shooting in Fort Gibson to a tornado in Stroud to witnessing an execution. A little community theater coverage was sprinkled in there, too. Movies engender many of his happiest memories, from standing in line for “Star Wars” and “Grease” at the Southroads Cinema to the James Bond and Pink Panther movies that always premiered at the enormous Continental Theater.

Big winner tonight: producer Harvey Weinstein. "The Artist" wins 5 Oscars, "The Iron Lady" goes 2-for-2, even wins best documentary.
