BREAKING NEWS: Van Cliburn Gold Medalist now playing OK Mozart

Haochen Zhang, the 19-year-old Chinese pianist who made a bit of music history earlier this week by tying with Nobuyuke Tsujii of Japan for the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, will perform his first concert since the competition June 17 at OK Mozart in Bartlesville.

Originally, OK Mozart was to feature the Silver Medalist from the 13th Van Cliburn competition, which is held every four years in Fort Worth, Texas. However, because of the unusual circumstances of their being a tie for the top prize, the Van Cliburn organization suggested a change.

Zhang is one of the youngest performers to win the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn.
