Lindsay Lohan's people canceled on
Barbara Walters' people for a "20/20" interview set for Friday, Walters said today on "The View" that when she first heard Lindsay couldn't make it because she wasn't feeling "up to it," she understood.
But after finding out Linds' new PR team had no sooner booked the "Liz & Dick" star on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Walters felt a little slighted.
If the new PR team had just been honest with Walters from the beginning and said "'(Lindsay) isn't up to the kinds of questions that you might ask'..I wouldn't feel quite as disappointed as I do today," Walters said.
Walters said had Lohan gone ahead with the interview, it would have been "wonderful" - the co-host asking the young woman to compare her life to the late Elizabeth Taylor's - both child stars with aggressive mothers and so forth.
Early on, many speculated the cancellation came because Lohan's reps didn't like the "direction" the show wanted to take the interview.
