Beauty's mark

The beauty biz is booming at Woodland Hills Mall lately.

On Friday, PureBeauty Boutique & Salon opened its doors on the upper level near Macy's. And this Friday, Sephora is scheduled to open.

PureBeauty is a European-style beauty boutique, offering prestige beauty collections. Its salon offers hair color, cuts, conditioning, extensions, styling and facial-waxing services. Plus, they have licensed hair stylists and beauty advisors to help clients find the right products and services based on their hair and skin types.

Sephora, which will donate a percentage of its opening day sales to the Junior League of Tulsa, offers thousands of products from myriad brands. Some of these include Bare Escentuals, Carol’s Daughter, Laura Mercier, Make Up For Ever, Stila, Anastasia and Nars. You'll also see skincare lines like T, N.V. Perricone, Fresh, Bliss and Cosmedicine, which makes this new product I love: Healthy Cleanse Foaming Cleanser & Toner In One ($35), a lightly foaming, non-stripping face wash with the refreshment of a built-in, natural witch hazel toner – perfect for those mornings I'm running late and need to cut a step or two in my grooming regimen.

For more info about PureBeauty, call them at 252-3321. Sorry, no number for Sephora yet.

Peace, love and lightly foaming things … xoxo

WHAT! Woodland is getting a Sephora! That rocks. I could not tell you the last time I was at the mall, I abhor going to 'the' mall but just might have to make an exception.

Stop in next time you are headed to Press Club for lunch.

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
