Blake Shelton to release newest studio album on July 12

Blake Shelton is releasing his ninth album ahead of schedule, he announced this week.

The album, including his hit single "Honey Bee" drops July 12 on Warner Bros. It's produced by well-regarded Nashville producer Scott Hendricks.

"Honey Bee" is the fastest rising single of his career (or any male soloist's career). It sold more than 138,000 digital copies its debut week.

Tonight, the country star joins rocker Adam Levine, pop star Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green as a coach on NBC’s musical reality show, "The Voice."

Shelton will marry sweetheart and Oklahoma transplant Miranda Lambert on May 14.

He performs at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on May 6.

Barrelhouse Beat

Barrelhouse: A colloquialism describing the low saloons at the turn of the century (19th) that served whiskey straight out of the barrel. It's also a reference to the type of music played in those venues. Ex: Barrelhouse music.

Beat: The time or timing. Ex: The band played with a solid beat. Also used as a term describing a reporters specific area of expertise. Ex: The music beat.
