Bon Jovi will be the first star performer to perform live on "American Idol."
The rock group, fronted by Jon Bon Jovi, will perform its single "Because We Can" from its upcoming album "What About Now" on the March 14 episode of the reality singing competition, according to Fox.
Since 1984, the Grammy-winning band has toured 50 countries, performed more than 2,700 concerts and sold more than 130 million album worldwide. Earlier this month, the band kicked off a new tour that includes the United States, Canada, Europe, Sweden, Japan, South Africa, Brazil and Australia.
The first U.S. and Canadian portions of the tour from February until April 25 followed by two May concerts in Africa and then concert performances in Europe from May 14 until July 3. After that, the rock group returns to the U.S. for five more concerts.
"American Idol" airs at 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and continues its Sudden Death rounds tonight and next week on channel 23, cable 5.
