Brad and Angie at Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life" premiere. Are they finally stepping out of movie-star royalty?

Lots of interesting developments this week for Brangelina. Not that you really give a dang, but it's my job to make you care.

First, Mr. Pitt -- who I like to think of as a quasi-Okie (he was born in Shawnee, after all, and likes to talk about it) -- announced on the Australian version of 60 Minutes that he'd probably retire from acting in three years.

Today in South Korea during a press conference, he
clarified his comments, telling reporters: "I wasn't actually putting an exact deadline on my expiration date, but I see it coming," he said. "I just have other interests and I do quite enjoy the production side."

Hmmm. Not sure if I see that happening with the A-plus-list actor. I guess his plan -- for now-- is to step behind the camera when he turns the big 5-0.
I've always thought he'd be more of a Paul Newman as he gets older, still as handsome as ever at 75 and getting into some great character roles. Maybe even winning a supporting actor Oscar once his "pretty boy" curse is over?

Now onto his lovely better half, Angie. The Hollywood Reporter reports today that the superstar hired
Ryan Gosling's talent agent, Ilene Feldman at IFA Talent.

This is significant because she hasn't had this type of agent since 2006, meaning she's been pretty much handling her acting choices with only her manager and lawyer. No Ari Gold for her -- until now.

Insiders are speculating that the Queen of Kicking Butt in Blockbusters is looking to hone in on indie roles, going back to her roots for more characters like she portrayed pre-Brangelina, as in her breakout turn in Gia.

Very interesting. Seems to me that these two have tentpole fatigue -- too many big budget, studio movies -- and they want to do more "meaningful" work.

Let's hope so. It's getting to the point where we see Brangelina on screen rather than the characters they're paid millions to play.

If they make this move, I say, goodie.

Then maybe bloggers like me will shut up about them for five minutes.

We shall see...
