
Matt Smith stars as "Doctor Who" on BBC America, cable 176. BBC
Great Britain's Royal Mail Service will mark the 50th anniversary of the science-fiction series "Doctor Who" with a set of 11 stamps.
The stamps, which won't be released until March 26, 2013, will feature each of the 11 actors who have played the Doctor since the series debuted Nov. 23, 1963, according to Zap2it.com. The background of each stamp will be a graphic showing the series' opening sequence, the web site reported Thursday.
The "Doctors" who will be pictured are Matt Smith, David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston, Paul McGann, Sylvester McCoy, Colin Baker, Peter Davison, Tom Baker, John Pertwee, Patrick Troughton and William Hartnell.
In addition to the main stamps, the service will also be issuing a sheet of five miniature stamps featuring the TARDIS (Doctor Who's space vehicle and home) and four of the Doctors most fiendship villains – a Dalek, a Cyberman, an Ood and a Weeping Angel, according to the website.
