I told y'all about the newest addition to Center 1 in today's Scene section, but I wasn't able to include pictures -- 'til now, anyway.

Baby Bump, at 35th Street and Peoria Avenue, is a fabulous maternity boutique and spa next to Black Optical.

"It's an oasis for mothers-to-be and new mothers," said Lisa White. She and her husband, Brad, own the shop with Dr. Robie and Krista Herman.

They offer high-end maternity lines from California, Miami, Australia and Switzerland, said White, a Tulsa native who recently moved back from New York with her husband.

Baby Bump also has a spa in a relaxing atmosphere, with treatment specifically designed for pregnant women, Lisa said, adding they use a product line called Mama Mio skin care. They also offer 4-D ultrasound for those who want a live-action recording of their ultrasound.

Expectant fathers aren't left out of the mix, by the way, Brad said. Baby Bump offers "Daddy's Turn," a one-hour massage for pops-to-be.

For more, call Baby Bump at 935-3500. You can also visit tulsaworld.com/babybump
Peace, love and bumps, of course ... j.a.w.

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
