Songwriters and musicians, there's one week left to enter the
International Songwriting Competition.
Awards include more than $150,000 in cash and prizes shared by 65 winners in more than a dozen categories, including Americana, blues, lyric writing, folk, electronica, performance, video, jazz and comedy. The contest is sponsored by Gibson, ASCAP, Berklee College of Music and other music industry professionals.
Judges include more than a dozen recording industry leaders, including Sire, Universal Republic, Epic, Lost Highway and Sony Nashville record companies, and MTV, VH1, Walt Disney and Nickelodeon, among others.
Musician judges are an eclectic mix that includes Tom Waits, Black Francis (Pixies), Wynonna Judd, Steve Winwood, Timbaland, Jeff Beck, Michael W. Smith, Kings of Leon, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more.
