At last night’s CMT Awards, singer Carrie Underwood - a big winner that evening - told recently-engaged Miley Cyrus and ‘Hunger Games’ star Liam Hemsworth to take the time to enjoy newlywed life, Extra reports.
“If you can be engaged for a while, plan everything slow and take your first couple of years just to really hang out,” a congratulatory Underwood told the young couple.
Muskogee-born Underwood married hockey player Mike Fisher in 2010.
Actress Denise Richards also congratulated the couple saying age doesn't matter when you know the other person.
"My parents got married at 17 and 21 and stayed married," she said.
