Watch out, search-engine trollers and link-followers. A report by
McAfee Anti-Virus
considers
Carrie Underwood
one of the most dangerous celebrity names on the web.
Underwood’s name is frequently used by spammers and scammers to lure people to ill-willed websites that could contain spyware, adware, spam, phishing, viruses and other malware, the report shows.
Though the Oklahoma native’s name hit No. 51 on the list, Victoria’s Secret model
Heidi Klum
took the top spot. Following a link with her name from a web search risks a 10 percent shot at a bad result, the anti-virus software site reported. Last year, Cameron Diaz held the undesired title.
“Consumers should be particularly aware of malicious content hiding in ‘tiny’ places like shortened URLs that can spread virally in social networking sites, or through e-mails and text messages from friends,” said Paula Greve, director of Web security research at McAfee, in a press release.
The top 10, in order, are
Klum
,
Diaz
,
Piers Morgan
,
Jessica Biel
,
Katherine Heigl
,
Mila Kunis
,
Anna Paquin
,
Adriana Lima
,
Scarlett Johansson
and No. 10 was a tie between
Emma Stone
,
Brad Pitt
and
Rachel McAdams
.
Justin Bieber
was at No. 49,
Rihanna
and Underwood tied at No. 51 and
Lady Gaga
ranked No. 58.
In a story you don’t have to follow a shortened link to, Billboard online reports that Underwood is halfway through her next studio album, a followup to 2009’s “Play On.” No release date and no album title has been set.

Barrelhouse Beat
Barrelhouse:
A colloquialism describing the low saloons at the turn of the century (19th) that served whiskey straight out of the barrel. It's also a reference to the type of music played in those venues. Ex: Barrelhouse music.
Beat:
The time or timing. Ex: The band played with a solid beat. Also used as a term describing a reporters specific area of expertise. Ex: The music beat.
About me:
I'm Okie born and raised, and have lived all over the state: Oklahoma City, Enid, Moore, Norman, Edmond and Tulsa. I am a music geek, writer, graphic designer and amateur photographer and videographer who's followed the Tulsa and regional music scene since I moved to Green Country more than 10 years ago. I've been enmeshed in Tulsa's varied and vibrant musical night life, what some of us affectionately call a modernized throwback to the Barrelhouse scene, since that time. I fell in love with it. I fell hard.
