Checotah native Carrie Underwood walked away from the American Country with the Female Artist of the Year award at Monday’s awards show in Las Vegas.

Her Vocal Collaboration of the Year Award, for Brad Paisley’s duet “Remind Me” brings her total wins to 11, a new ACA record for the entirely fan-driven awards show.

“It’s fan-voted, so it really means a lot,” she told the Associated Press. “I already know I have awesome fans, but when they do something like this for me, it’s really awesome.”

Tishomingo resident Miranda Lambert won three awards, including Single of the Year, Female Music Video of the Year and Most Played Radio Track: Female for “Over You.”

“Honey, we won an award and I’m really excited,” Lambert shouted out to husband Blake Shelton via television. “Fans, thank you so much.”

Shelton lost in three categories Monday night.

In fact, most Oklahoma-tied nominees lost at this awards show: Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Ronnie Dunn, Pistol Annies all lost — even Lambert and Underwood lost some of their nominations.

Lambert lost the Female Artist of the Year title to Underwood. Similarly, Underwood lost the Single of the Year: Female award to Lambert.

The American Country Awards were created in 2010 by the Fox network.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
