Change: It does a body good

A nice, cold (and, by the looks of it, empty) carton of change. MIKE SIMONS/Tulsa World
Or is that just milk? What's the phrase about change being good?
Whatever, blah, blah, blah, I'm no longer the fashion reporter at the Tulsa World.
A couple weeks ago, my editor asked if I would like a little change. I kinda raised my eyebrows like Dreyfuss the dog from "Empty Nest." Did anyone else watch that "Golden Girls" spinoff on NBC other than me? All I'm hearing is crickets, so I guess not.
Anyway, having written about local fashion exclusively from August 1998 to some time in 2009, I started writing more general-interest stories with the occasional style subject thrown into the mix.
Now, starting this week(ish), I'll be a general assignment features reporter for the Scene section. Taking over the style beat will be the fabulous Kim Brown, whom World readers know is a fellow Scene writer. Moreoever, she's quite the fashionista, unlike me, so it'll be a blast to see what she does.
In the mean time, if you have a really interesting story idea or know an amazing person who has a cool story to tell, PLEASE let me know! I'd love to hear from you.
Peace, love and other things that do a body good ... XOXO

Color me confused. The banner under "Inalienable Wright" still says FASHION WRITER.

As long as you're still writing somewhere, I am happy.

Congrats on your new challenge. I know you will be great. And we are lucky to have Kim step into your fashionable shoes. Oh. And I watched Empty Nest. ; )

As long as you are happy with the move and you're still writing. As long as your fans may continue to read, laugh, and roll on the floor laughing because of your words of your sense of humor and awesome writing skills -- I am happy for you (and for us). Wright on!

Living Wright
While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
