Today's Tulsa World includes a story about the farmers markets, when they open and where they're located.

Tulsa's biggest and most established is the Cherry Street Farmers Market, which this year is expanding to the street, between Rockford and Quaker avenues on 15th Street.

We gave a partial list of what you can expect to find at Cherry Street on Saturday, but here's a more complete listing.

Arugula, asparagus, beets, carrots, chard, greens, herbs, lettuce, microgreens, mushrooms (shiitake, maitake and oysters, perhaps some morels), onions, potatoes, radishes, spinach and strawberries.

Plus soups, salad dressings, cakes, bar cookies, dips, spreads, pizzas, fried potato chips, wood-smoked yams, beef, eggs, fish, honey, pork, turkey, chicken, goat, yogurt, butter, crème fraiche, ricotta, Greek- style yogurt, buttermilk, cream, breads, jam/jellies, pastries, salsa, spices, herbs and spice blends.

And, blueberry pie, blackberry pie, chocolate raspberry bread pudding, beignets, live kombucha tea, yogurt cheese cheesecake, granola with dried fruit, hummus, basil pesto, tapenade, grilling brat burgers, smoked salmon, water buffalo mozzarella, Guinness Worcestershire and whole grain mustard, and panini with brie/smoked salmon/ham.

Also, veggie seedlings including heirloom tomatoes, herb seedlings including organic lavender, ornamental and flower seedlings, potted plants, soap, lotion, salve, lipbalm, muscle rub, chest rub, shower gel, salt scrubs, deodorant, body butter, powders, dog products, lavender patchouli soap, belly butter, mineral oil enemas, lotion bar, candles (some scented with essential oils) ceramics (bowls, mugs, espresso mugs, spoon holders, casseroles, covered jars), and mosaic items for the garden that include butterfly and dragonfly garden stakes, gazing balls, turtles, sunfaces, moons, pots and more.

Also, Clear Creek Lavender has added a new soap to its popular line-up of suds. Their Lavender Patchouli soap is the debut, a result of many requests from loyal Cherry Street customers.

Food Writer Nicole Marshall Middleton joined the Tulsa World in May 1993 after graduating from Oklahoma State University. She has covered crime, city government and general assignment beats during that time - but mostly crime. But when she isn’t at work, Nicole is a devoted food hobbyist. She enjoys meal planning and cooking with her husband, Steve, every day of the week and on holidays it’s a family affair. When the opportunity to become the food writer at the Tulsa World presented itself in the summer of 2011, Nicole jumped at it. She is excited to explore a new side of Tulsa and make the transition from crime to cuisine. .
