Chew on this: Chuy's coming to Tulsa

Chuy's, the Tex-Mex restaurant founded in Austin, Texas, in 1982, is coming to south Tulsa.
The restaurant is moving into space at 10808 E. 71st St., formerly occupied by New World Chinese Buffet.
I went by Thursday, and it looks as though remodeling is just getting under way. Workers were putting debris from inside the building into trash haulers.
According to information pulled from Chuy's website, Chuy's strives to deliver authentic flavors from Santa Fe, N.M., through the Hatch Valley, along the western border towns of Texas and New Mexico and into the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas.
"Our Green Chile recipe comes from Espanola, New Mexico; our Ranchero Sauce was founded in Del Rio, Texas, and our Tomatillo Sauce originated in Donna, Texas," according to company literature. "Our Fajita marinade was created by some ranch hands on a farm near Boca Chica Beach, at the mouth of the Rio Grande."
An opening date is undetermined.

This was one of my traditional stops in Dallas, particularly the one near Crate & Barrel. Excited it's coming to T-Town!

I thought you meant the nugget from Chelsea Lately.

Ho-hum food. It'll be a tough go on 71st.

doc strangelove, have you been there before? it blows anything in tulsa out of the water. I grew up in Houston and trust me when I say, Chuy's will change the way Tulsa looks at Mexican food. I crack up when people in Tulsa try to speak with authority on Mexican food. I've lived here for 3 years now and have yet to find a restaurant that would stay open in Houston for more than 6 months. Give Chuy's a shot. You'll keep going back.

So you live in Dallas and comment about Tulsa's goings on? Interesting. Ho-hum food? Since you live in Dallas and I used to live there, what restaurants do you enjoy there?

Nevermind Strangelove. I couldn't care less what you think. You have nothing better to do than sit on tulsaworld dot com and comment. My man, there's more to life I promise. You literally comment hourly. Get out and do something in Tulsa err.....Dallas. For whatever reason you're really concerned about Tulsa. It'll be okay without you, trust me.

We have been eating at Chuy's for a long time. They are great. Should be a great addition to the TX-MX here in Tulsa. Pity Dr Strangelove, he can't help it, he just ain't right...
