Christmas light hunting: You can stay in your pajamas for this night out

Rhema has more than 2 million lights.

The great thing about Christmas light displays is you don't even have to get out of your car to have a good time.

This weekend, I gave the kids a bath, put them in their pajamas and loaded them in the car. The 2-year-olds were confused about going "on a trip" in the dark in their pajamas, but there were promises of ice cream and twinkly lights, so they complied.

I practically had on pajamas myself as we ordered ice cream cones from the Braum's drive-through window and then went light hunting. We used last week's Tulsa World Weekend entertainment guide as our road map, which I definitely recommend. The story, written by Nour Habib, gives a good listing of the best light displays in town.

In case you missed it, here are her suggestions, plus a few more.

Rhema Bible Church
It's the showpiece of lights in the Tulsa area. That's why cars line the street waiting to get in. You can park and walk around the campus, decorated with more than 2 million lights, or simply drive through.

Hospitality House
This light show will be a fun time, with lights synchronized to Christmas music. The first show, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, will feature the Cascia Hall Handbell Choir.
1135 S. Victor Ave.
Nightly light shows, through Jan. 5
$10 donation is encouraged

Chandler Park's Lights on the Hill
Drive the length of the park, which is decorated with everything from whimsical Santas to nativity scenes, all in lights.
6500 W. 21st St.
6 to 9 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Christmas Day

Cedar Springs Estates
This neighborhood light display features singing Santas, a Ferris wheel and a nativity all in 60,000 lights.
1613 S. Nyssa Place in Broken Arrow
Free

Utica Square
Every tree in the square twinkles with clear lights at Utica Square. Make it a fun trip by grabbing a coffee at Starbucks before late-night window shopping, or drive through with the car heater, and Christmas music, blasting.
