Clang, clang, clang goes new trolley + What's your favorite neighborhood?

It took a good hour for me to get "Clang, clang, clang went the trolley! Ding, ding, ding went the bell!" out of my head Wednesday afternoon.

That's because, every Halloween, I channel Judy Garland, specifically her role in "Meet Me in St. Louis," twirling around in a dress on an old trolley -- or, as I don't have a trolley, my kitchen. OK, I totally made that up.

But "The Trolley Song" was on my mind yesterday while writing about a new trolley service that will be offered in the Brady Arts, Blue Dome and Deco districts downtown starting Friday, and will run 5 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

After I left for an interview near Inola (more on that in a few days), I received a map of the trolley route -- look to your right.

In the mean time, before we allow our heartstrings to go zing-zing-zing (sorry, I'll stop now), kindly tell me, por favor, what YOUR favorite neighborhood is for entertainment and fun in the 918. Is it Utica Square? Brookside? Jenks' downtown? Somewhere in south Tulsa? Tell me why, too.

Peace, love and heartstrings ... XOXO

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
