Someone's in the kitchen with Trisha and, yes, it's husband country music star Garth Brooks.

Trisha is, of course, multi-Grammy winner and cookbook author Trisha Yearwood and they will be sharing counter space in "Trisha's Southern Kitchen," airing at 10 a.m. Saturday on the Food Network, cable 58.

The two will be preparing "Black Bean Lasagna," Trisha's "Thai Salad," "Miss Mickey's Peanut Butter Balls" and lemonade.

Yearwood, Brooks and daughters Allie and August Brooks live on a ranch near Owasso.

Here's the recipe for "Miss Mickey's Peanut Butter Balls," courtesy Food network.

Total Time:
20 min
Prep time: 15 min.
Cooking time: 5 min.
Yields: 12 to 15 balls
Level: Easy

Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 white corn syrup
2 cups crunchy peanut butter
4 cups rice cereal

Directions:

In a large saucepan, stir the sugar and the syrups together over medium heat. Remove from the heat and quickly add the peanut butter, continuing to stir until the mixture is fully combined.

Add the rice cereal and mix well. Shape the mixture into palm-size balls with your hands. Transfer to waxed paper. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
