Cynthiana harvest, Grape Stomp coming soon at Stone Bluff Cellars

The folks at Stone Bluff Cellars are looking for a little help with the upcoming harvest of Cynthiana grapes in the Stone Bluff vineyards.
The harvest is predicted to take place Aug. 11 or Aug. 18, but it is a good idea to get signed up now. Participants will be notified which Saturday the crop will be ready.
Pickers will start gathering grapes at 6:30 a.m. and spend as long as it takes to bring in the crop. Pickers are paid $3.50 per lug; a lug is a tub that holds 25 to 30 pounds of grapes.
Participants are encouraged to bring snacks, bug spray and sunscreen.
Also, the annual Grape Stomp, benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, is scheduled noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 12.
Families, from toddlers to seniors, can come to the winery, get barefooted and stomp grapes in wooden tubs. The day will include food and music.
