Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow is holding a dedication reception for a glass mosaic created by local teacher and artist Katie Pernu. Pernu created the mosaic for the university, and it is currently hanging in the Visitors' Center Gallery in the Administration Building.

Pernu created the mosaic in 11 weeks. The three window panels are jewel-toned, with thousands of pieces of glass in hues of blue, red, yellow and orange. Each panel is 100 inches tall and 80 inches wide and weighs about 125 pounds.

The reception will be held at the university, 3100 E. New Orleans in Broken Arrow, at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20.
