Gil Mantera's Party Dream

Check out our interview with Dfest headliner Gil Mantera's Party Dream. Gil Mantera performs at 10:30 p.m. on Friday at the IDL Ballroom. Dfest runs Friday and Saturday at the Blue Dome District in downtown Tulsa.

For more interviews with headliners Dengue Fever, Blue October, Colourmusic (performing Thursday at the Dfest VIP/launch party), Cake, Ian Moore and The Uglysuit, check out the Tulsa World mini-site at

tulsaworld.com/Dfest.

Here's a sample of that Gil Mantera's Party Dream interview:

Q: What outdoor/festival smell do you dislike the most, and why?

A: Patchouli mixed with armpit stink and clove cigarettes.

Q: Have you performed in/visited Tulsa before? If so, what did you like most about it? If you haven't, is there something you're particularly looking forward to?

A: This will be our first visit to Tulsa. When it comes to touring, the main thing I want to get out of a city is a good meal that can only be found in that city. I'll have to ask around to see what's good to eat there.

Also, see the Tulsa World interviews with emerging acts Billy Joe Winghead, Crocodile, Daniel Walcher, Dead Sea Choir, Gentleman Auction House, Mayola, Ptiaradactyl, Rainbows Are Free, Round Up Boys, Stars Go Dim and Three Penny Upright at tulsaworld.com/Dfest.
