Producers from "Man v. Food" were completely tight lipped about the Tulsa restaurants they were scouting and filming for the Travel Channel show.
Last week, readers tipped us to "Man v. Food" sightings and we followed, finding out what host Adam Richman ate along the way.
Two years ago, producers from "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" contacted me about potential Tulsa hot spots before they came to town. They checked into several but ultimately decided to head west, filming at several restaurants in Oklahoma City.
At the time, the producer told me Oklahoma City had a stronger pull and better restaurants for their show's format. It was disappointing to hear, but it's funny now considering all the gems "Man v. Food" found in their time in Tulsa. As best I can tell, Richman and the crew were here for a week, and they didn't have any trouble finding good places to eat.
In fact, last week Richman tweeted "I have to say that the last two episodes we've shot may be our best work yet."
