Dink's BBQ

In a recent Spot feature on Bruner's Old Time Meat Market, I mentioned doctoring up a pulled pork sandwich with some Dink's barbecue sauce.

The next day I received an e-mail from Jesse Hernandez asking if the sauce I referred to came from the restaurant he manages, Dink's Pit Bar-B-Que in Bartlesville.

Indeed, it did. I had picked up a bottle the last time I happened to be traveling through Bartlesville. No barbecue lover ever should pass up a chance to visit Dink's

The meats there are slow-cooked over pecan and hickory in a concrete bunker that has been used since Dink's opened almost 30 years ago. The aforementioned sauce shows flavors of tomato and vinegar, not too spicy, not too smokey.

While there take a look at the photos of entrances to the Mullendore Cross Bell Ranch and Trentman Ranch, and see the barbed wire collection and vintage fishing gear.

Dink's is located at 2929 SE Frank Phillips Blvd., and the phone number is 335-0606.
