He's back to save the cosmic day.
"Doctor Who" returns for a new escapades through space and time in five episodes launching Sept. 1 on BBC America, cable 176.
In the season 7 opener, "Asylum of the Daleks," the Doctor has been kidnapped by his oldest foe and taken to the Asylum, a place even the Daleks are afraid to enter. It's from this planetary prison filled with the most insane of their kind that the Doctor and the Ponds must escape. It all comes down to the Doctor to the rescue.
Also this season, he and his companions will puzzle a unexpected invasion of Earth, save a spaceship filled with dinosaurs and go on a Wild West adventure. The series will conclude with the Doctor racing against time through Manhattan to save the Amy and Rory, aka the Ponds, and their marriage. Can he do it?
"We have, I think, our biggest range of stories EVER," said Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer of the series. "We've got the return of the Daleks AND the Weeping Angels - both of them poll-topping Doctor Who adversaries - in cracking new stories, we've got Dinosaurs on a Spaceship (it's what you've always wanted), we've got a glorious western with a Cyborg Gunslinger, the most unusual invasion Earth story EVER, and location shooting in New York for the Pond finale."
