Ginger Dollins of the prestigious Domaine Serene winery in Oregon will host a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the French Hen, 7143 S. Yale Ave.

Grace and Ken Evenstad founded Domaine Serene Vineyards and Winery in 1989 when they purchased 42 acres of land in the Dundee Hills region of Oregon to produce premium pinot noir.

Today they own 462 acres of land in Yamhill County in the Willamette Valley.

In addition to pinot noir, Domaine Serene also produces chardonnay and syrah. The wines have won many awards, and the winery has been called
"The Chateau Lafite of Oregon" by well-known wine writer Anthony Dias Blue.

The French Hen dinner will start with a brut rose from France, Veuve du Vernay, and will be followed by three Domaine Serene wines -- Cote Sud chardonnay, Evenstad reserve pinot noir and Rockblock SoNo syrah.

The dinner will include lobster, duck, lamb, cheese and chocolate courses.

Cost is $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations: 918-492-2596.

This is going to be a great dinner. The Evenstad Reserve Pinot is probably one of the best wines to ever come out of Oregon.
