By now you’ve heard those pretty pipes of
Beyoncé’s were reportedly pre-recorded at yesterday’s Inauguration ceremony.
Basically, she lip-synced.
The London Times reported that the Grammy-award winning artist decided to go with a studio-recorded version at the last minute.
Early on
The Washingtonian magazine said the United States Marine Corps Band wasn’t playing the song either.
"To press seated just below the podium, in front of the 'President's Own' Marine Corps Band, it was evident that the band wasn't actually playing during the song — even though band director Colonel Michael J. Colburn was conducting energetically and the band members mimicked blowing into their instruments," the Washingtonian's Sophie Gilbert writes.
But Kristin duBois, a rep for the band said that it did play though Beyoncé really didn’t sing: “All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day.”
DuBois said the band did perform live “but we received last-minute word that Beyonce was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don’t know what the reason why.”
Can anything just be real these days???So far, no one from the 31-year-old's camp has responded to the claim.
The Hill reported Facebook conversations about Beyonce’s performance went up more than 42,000 percent compared to normal on Inauguration Day.
Sometime during or after Ms. Knowles/Mrs. Carter made her rendition (or sort of),
Piers Morgan declared her the no. 1 performer in world music.
He was impressed.
But now because we get upset everything…perhaps
too upset (cue Te’o)…
Twitter is ablaze.
But the best:
He's great.
Did Beyoncé really lip sync the National Anthem at the presidential inauguration? Is this something to be upset about?
