Faye's Casual Cafe to close; Big Daddy's closes one, opens one; Fat Guy's Burgers to open second store

Fat Guy's Burger Bar will open a south Tulsa location in mid August.
Faye's Casual Cafe, 4117 S. Mingo Road, located on the north end of Gardner's Books & Music, will close June 1, according to owner Jeremy Delgado, who opened the restaurant last year with wife Carla.
"The customers we had loved us, but there just weren't enough of them," Delgado said.
Faye's was a terrific little breakfast-lunch spot, with good food and bargain prices.
Big Daddy's BBQ has closed its Broken Arrow store, but has opened a new mobile restaurant at the Tulsa Air National Guard, 4200 N. 93rd East Ave. It will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
"The Air National Guard base is accessible to the public, but our main function is to serve military, military retirees and their families," said Big Daddy's co-owner Rod Doyle Ball.
Big Daddy's also has locations at 4560 N. Lewis Ave., 1125 S. Garnett Road and 399 E. Main St., Jenks.
Fat Guy's Burger Bar, which opened in 2010 in the shadow of ONEOK Field, is adding a second location, expected to open in mid August at 7945 S. Memorial Drive.
The new restaurant will include patio dining and offer the same menu and beverages the downtown restaurant does.

Love Fat Guy's Burger Bar, wonderful fresh cut french fries. But it is a place not to eat there very often, could easily expand the waist line. :)
Faye's Casual Cafe? Never heard of it. In a large city like Tulsa, you have to advertise a lot to get customers. In a small town people drive all over everyday and notice new businesses, not so in a large city. It does cost a lot to advertise, but that is part of doing business.

Big Daddy's needs some work on customer service at the Garnett location. When Big Daddy was still alive it was a great place but without his firm hand things have gone downhill. The food is still good but the employees act like they resent you even being there, much less placing an order and actually expecting to receive it within the hour. It's all about the customer people. Once you lose one it is hard to ever get them back. Lose too many and you wind up like Faye's. Out of business.

Fat Guy's will have to clean up their act to survive, one time I was there the food was good but the atmosphere was nasty.
