First Lady Michelle Obama will make her first appearance on Nickelodeon's "25th Annual Kids' Choice Awards" Saturday.

Mrs. Obama will be on hand to present Grammy winner Taylor Swift with The Big Help Award for her efforts in raising funds and awareness for victims of natural disasters. The event will be telecast live from Los Angeles at 7 p.m. on cable 33.

The First Lady was the recipient of The Big Help Award at the 2010 awards in recognition of her leadership in championing healthier lifestyles for kids through her "Let's Move!" campaign. Earlier this year, she also appeared in a special episode of Nickelodeon's hit series "iCarly" in support of her Joining Forces initiative to support military families.

Swift's charitable work has included opening up the last dress rehearsal of her "Speak Now Tour" to fans as a fundraiser for victims of tornadoes which devastated the South. The event raised more than $750,000 with 100 percent of ticket sales being donated directly to benefit tornado victims via the "Speak Now ... Help Now" Fund. It is a fund established through the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Swift also continues her partnerships with Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude Medical Center, Habitat for Humanity, TJ Martell Foundation, The Red Cross and its international and regional affiliates, The Salvation Army, Nick's Kids, and the Victory Junction Gang Camp, plus libraries, schools and educational initiatives around the country.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
