While many on the East Coast were likely hunkering down without power due to Sandy, the lights were on in studio 6B at 30 Rockefeller Center where ‘Late Night’ host Jimmy Fallon carried on with business as usual.

“I’m hoping if you’re watching, you are at home, you’re safe, you’re warm,” Fallon says in a video intro to Monday night’s show during which the host is walking outside on a street where only a few lone souls are seen walking around in the background.

“We sent our audience home so that they can be safe and warm, but we’re here,” says Fallon, going inside the building. And what’s more all the guests scheduled to show would be there, too.

SNL's Seth Meyers, Top Chef star Padma Lakshmi, "Forrest Gump" and "Flight" director Robert Zemeckis, and musical guests Imagine Dragons all made it for the show. The house band, The Roots, was there, too.

Just no live audience. Every so often, a camera grabbed shots of the empty area. Some digs fell flat while others were met with the laughter of those who were in the studio.

“It’s like you and Higgins are doing a show out of your basement,” Meyers joked when he arrived on the set. “You should have done this in front of, like, fake wood paneling.”

David Letterman also went on with his show Monday night, which featured actor Denzel Washington.

Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert all canceled their late-night shows Monday.
