Barry Switzer
Hall of Fame football coach Barry Switzer will be in Tulsa next week to promote his Switzer Family Vinyards wines.
Switzer, former University of Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys coach, started the Napa Valley winery with his son-in-law, Hunter Miller. They make only one wine, a cabernet sauvignon that sells for about $55 a bottle.
Switzer will autograph bottles of his wines 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tulsa Hills Wine Cellar in the Tulsa Hills Shopping Center. Bottles may be reserved by calling 918-445-8804.
At 6:30 p.m. both Tuesday and Wednesday nights, he will host dinners at the Polo Grill in Utica Square. The dinners are $79, plus tax and gratuity. For reservations, call 918-744-4280.
To learn more about how Switzer found himself in the winemaking business and more details about his Tulsa visit, check out the interview I had with him in the Scene section of this Sunday's Tulsa World.
